Ten Years of Precision and Progress

Over the past decade, Jetcraft Commercial has established itself as a key player. Since its founding in 2015, the company has steadily refined its approach to commercial aircraft transactions, consistently delivering results for airlines and industry stakeholders.

Founded on a clear vision to specialize in regional, narrowbody and turboprop transactions, the company is now irreplaceable within the broader Jetcraft network. Reflecting on its early beginnings, President Raphael Haddad recalls the conversation that led to Jetcraft Commercial’s creation.

“I bumped into Jahid Fazal-Karim [Jetcraft’s Owner & Chairman of the Board] at a resort. We had a chat and agreed we would create another entity to handle the commercial side within the Jetcraft group of companies,” he explains. This focused approach laid the groundwork for the company’s measured growth and success, with an initial focus on aircraft and lease brokerage before shifting to aircraft trading.

A track record of landmark transactions

Since that shift in strategy, Jetcraft Commercial has completed over 77 transactions to date, building a reputation for handling complex deals with precision. Richard Libby, VP Sales, says: “Looking back at the last year and a half, with the 19 Dash 8-400s that we bought from Horizon Air, I remember at the time thinking that we were maybe biting off more than we could chew. But it all worked out incredibly well. This ability to manage challenging deals reflects our meticulous, client-focused approach.”

The placement of the former Horizon Air portfolio was finalized in February 2025, another milestone in the company’s history of managing multiple, large acquisitions. In 2022, Jetcraft Commercial acquired 14 Bombardier CRJ1000s from HOP!, the regional arm of Air France, securing global placements for the aircraft to meet post-pandemic travel demand. A year later, the team acquired 25 Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft frames from a leading US carrier and quickly secured an agreement to place 10 of these airframes, with separately sourced engines with an undisclosed buyer.

Jim Sorokan, VP Sales, adds: “It’s exciting to be a part of Jetcraft Commercial at this milestone. We have a sense of urgency about expanding our team and moving further into the larger regional aircraft sector, which we believe is poised for growth.”

Evolving financial capabilities

Jetcraft Commercial’s financial strength has evolved alongside its expanding portfolio. Marc Meloche, Managing Director notes: “Working with the Absa credit facility has been hugely beneficial for us. It has provided us with the flexibility to purchase an aircraft, send it for maintenance and have it ready, all without adding financial burdens on the buyer. Once buyers lock in their financial plans and are ready to purchase the aircraft, they do so from us.”

Jetcraft Commercial’s approach, anchored by financing tools, has provided the necessary flexibility to optimize aircraft acquisition and resale, ensuring each transaction is structured to meet specific client needs.

Forward focus

As the industry evolves, Jetcraft Commercial is positioning itself to meet new challenges and opportunities. The company aims to expand its core offerings and explore innovative transaction models, buying aircraft with leases attached and sourcing inventory directly from financial institutions.

Marking this 10th anniversary is a testament to disciplined approach, operational expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement. With a clear vision for the future and a proven track record of success, Jetcraft Commercial remains dedicated to fueling aviation opportunity for airlines in established and emerging markets.
