NARA Membership Provides Great Value

Since 2012, Jetcraft has been a proud member of the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA). A professional trade association comprised of select business aviation professionals, NARA members adhere to the highest professional standards that promote the growth and public understanding of the aircraft resale industry. All of the nearly 80 NARA members abide by a strict 14-point “Code of Ethics” that provides guidelines for industry conduct regarding aircraft transactions.

The organization’s members represent every phase of aircraft acquisition and ownership. Businesses and individuals aiming to increase productivity, accelerate business, enhance customer relationships and streamline company infrastructure through pre-owned aircraft ownership regularly turn to NARA members for assistance, not only in the sale or purchase of an aircraft but also for a multitude of advisory and support issues.

To become NARA certified, candidates must pass a rigorous application process that assures only the most respected and experienced aircraft consultants will become members. Each prospective aircraft broker/dealer must be sponsored by three current NARA members. The entire organization then votes on admission – which is granted only with an 80 percent majority.

So what are some of the benefits of NARA membership? Members participate in a program of ongoing education to remain current on best practices and new developments in acquiring and selling business aircraft. This is a major benefit in a rapidly evolving global industry.

Like most associations, NARA is guided by a Board of Directors. Jetcraft’s own Chad Anderson is a member of the NARA board and believes the association is key to driving the industry to even greater heights in the next decade and beyond.

They also extend to owners and operators,” said Anderson. “Since buying and selling a business aircraft is a complicated process, it is difficult to independently assess an aircraft’s true value. The association is also committed to developing the future leaders of the industry through the NARA Business Aviation Scholarship program. This scholarship was established for university students seeking a career in business aviation and, specifically, within the corporate aircraft sales, marketing, finance, legal and insurance community. The winners are chosen from hundreds of applicants who are full-time graduate and under-graduate students majoring in fields that relate to aviation business and management. In January 2015, the association announced over $24,000 worth of scholarships for four winners.

NARA is also dedicated to educating the public about business aviation. To that end, the association held a panel at last year’s 2014 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) conference in Orlando, Florida. A team of NARA members (pictured) – including Jetcraft’s Chad Anderson – discussed the latest technology, financing and regulatory trends in business aviation.
