How long have you been at your current organization?
My business partner and I started Aviation Tax Consultants in the fall of 2003.
What are your responsibilities within your organization?
Working with my colleagues at ATC, I am ultimately responsible for all of our clients’ tax compliance matters, handling IRS and state sales tax audits. In addition, I am the traveling / marketing face of the firm, attending numerous industry functions and speaking at aviation conferences.
Describe a typical day or week in your role.
Whether I am in the office or on the road, I spend most of my time on the phone speaking or corresponding on emails with clients, CPA’s, prospects and aircraft salespersons. I spend a significant amount of time traveling and networking with business aviation professionals around the country.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the challenge when I formulate and provide a solution to my client’s complicated tax situation. In the rare occasion that we handle IRS audit, the thrill of winning an audit is extremely satisfying!
Why did working in the Business Aviation industry interest you?
The business aviation industry is filled with talented folks in many different disciplines and I have developed great relationships with many both professionally and personally and the people I meet in the industry keep my job very enjoyable.
Who or what has been your greatest professional influence?
The former bosses and numerous clients who have been very successful in their professions. They motivate me to work hard and be successful in my own endeavors.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Driven. Dependable. Fun.
What one item would you never travel without on a long haul flight?
My smartphone with a playlist of 80’s music.
Finally, what is your hidden talent or hobby?
The rumor that I played in the Asian PGA Tour is false…I like to sing and have ‘performed’ around the country at various establishments during various aviation events.
