Q&A with Samantha Parkhouse

Samantha Parkhouse, Marketing Manager
Location: London, United Kingdom

How long have you been at Jetcraft?

I joined the Jetcraft team in May 2021, so it has been 4 months.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

As the Marketing Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), I support the Sales Teams in those regions by developing an integrated marketing plan including events, partnerships and sponsorships, public relations, advertising, and marketing communications.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

Every region has different initiatives therefore my role can be very varied day to day, from organising our presence at the Monaco Yacht Show, to coordinating our print advertising campaigns running in Africa, to managing our partnerships and sponsorships with high profile sportsmen such as an F1 driver. I am based in our London office, however, my role requires a fair bit of traveling, beginning with a trip to Monaco this month.

What do you love most about your job?

As an aviation enthusiast, I love to be involved in the world of aviation and working with aircrafts. I also very much enjoy the variety of the work and using my creativity to develop new marketing solutions to meet our business objectives.

Describe the company culture at Jetcraft and what it means to you?

Jetcraft has a great collaborative culture, whereby everyone works as a strong international team whilst at the same time individually adding value by bringing their own expertise. It is a very motivating environment to work in as there is a great deal of support, respect for one another and encouragement which I find invaluable.

What do you want your customers to experience when dealing with Jetcraft?

I believe every customer should experience the highest level of service that goes above and beyond their expectations, giving them the full trust and confidence that our team will deliver and provide them the best deal.

Who or what has been your greatest professional influence?

My greatest professional influence is Amelia Earhart who was an American aviator who set many flying records, most specifically, being the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and who also championed the advancement of women in aviation. I am inspired by her ambitious character and by her bravery to push the boundaries and set new goals and achievements whilst proactively following her passions in life. As she rightly says, “There is more to life than being a passenger”.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Optimistic, driven, organised

If you were to buy a business jet, which aircraft would suit your needs and why?

If I were to buy a business jet, I would have a Citation 501 because I very much enjoy going on safari and travelling around Africa. I would benefit from having this smaller, versatile yet long reaching aircraft as is could reach all the points across the continent whilst also being able to handle the wild terrains of the respective game parks and reserves in Africa.

What stands out to you as good customer service?

Good customer service to me is not just about the short-term transaction but the longer-term relationship. It is important to listen and understands the customer’s needs, and to have the highest level of communication and responsiveness at all times.

Finally, what is your hidden talent or hobby?

As a hobby, I have had my Private Pilot’s License since the age of 20. As often as I can, I take a Piper PA 28 and fly around the south coast of England! As my hidden talent, I am a portrait painter specialising in oil paints.
