Gemma Downs, Transaction Manager, Jetcraft
Location: London, UK
How long have you been at Jetcraft?
I have been at Jetcraft since October 2021.
What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?
As a transaction manager I deal with all things legal. I get involved from the LOI stage onto the purchase agreement and then closing. My main role is to ensure that we have a successful and smooth closing, ensuring that we get the Bill of Sale in place, making sure that the documents are signed, and ensuring that we are not the ones holding up the transaction.
What do you love most about your job?
I like the challenge of it. Coming from a property background it is quite a similar role, but there are key differences from property to aviation. It has been a really big challenge getting to grips with the aviation law. I’ve been trying to keep up to date with it all and absorb as much information as I can so I can do the job as well as I can while also energizing myself in a challenging role.
What do you want your customers to experience when dealing with Jetcraft?
One of the best things that we can do as Jetcraft is ensure that our customers walk away from a transaction happy, knowing that we’ve ticked every box for them and completed every requirement so that they know we’ve acted in their best interests and there is nothing for them to worry about moving forward. We want to build that trust so that the customer then comes back to us if they either want to sell or purchase another aircraft and that is my main focus when I’m dealing with customers or their legal representative.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Pragmatic. Self-disciplined. Principled.
Finally, what is your hidden talent or hobby?
I like cycling but I am by no means a professional. I have the Jetcraft bib and I like going out as a stress reliever if I’ve had a hard day, or if I’ve not had a hard day either way I’m out on the bike pedaling and getting some air.
