How long have you been at Jetcraft?

I have been with Jetcraft since August 2019. Prior to that, I was a summer intern in 2016.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

I support the management team on various strategic projects, ranging from transaction analysis to corporate development. I also help the sales team on streamlining sales engineering tasks and improving sales processes.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

I start the day checking on my emails and supporting potential urgent requests from the management, marketing, or sales team. Then I focus on longer term initiatives like building strategic presentations, pushing company digitalization, or exploring growth opportunities. My work involves a lot of data collection and modeling, but I also regularly liaise with internal as well as external stakeholders to drive projects forward.

Product Overview

The Bombardier Learjet 75 is the newest derivative of the popular Learjet 45XR. Compared to the Learjet 45XR, the Learjet 75 has improved avionics, redesigned winglets yielding better fuel efficiency, and upgraded engines.

As of December 2020, 23% of Learjet 75 aircraft were purchased pre-owned by their current owners, the other 77% new. 3.5% are for sale with all of those under an exclusive broker agreement. When for sale the average time on the market is 263 days.

Brief History

Bombardier received FAA certification for the Learjet 75 on November 14, 2013 and deliveries began shortly thereafter. The 100^th Learjet 75 was delivered in June 2017. The Learjet 75 Liberty is a  lower cost version of the Learjet 75 model and was first delivered in October 2020. A total of 142 Learjet 75 aircraft have been built with 141 in operation and 1 at the manufacturer.

Worldwide Appeal

There are 141 Learjet 75 aircraft in operation today. The majority of these (132) are wholly owned with 1 in shared ownership and 8 in fractional ownership. 7.8% are currently leased. North America has the largest percentage of wholly owned Learjet 75 aircraft (83%), followed by Europe (11%) and South America (4%).

Jetcraft is announcing a strategic relationship with Synerjet, a Latin American business aviation specialist, further strengthening the company’s footprint in the Americas.

The aircraft sales division of Synerjet will operate as an official Jetcraft authorized representative in the South America region, enabling Jetcraft to increase its offering to its clients looking to buy, sell or trade in, with local support from Synerjet’s experienced executives. Synerjet joins Jetcraft alongside its existing relationship with Aerolineas Ejecutivas, which has served as an authorised representative in Mexico and Central America for the last three years.

Jetcraft is celebrating the completion of the world’s first transaction of a pre-owned Embraer Praetor 600.

The sale of the super-midsize jet completes a landmark triple crown for Jetcraft, after the company facilitated transactions for the first pre-owned Gulfstream G500, and one of the first pre-owned Bombardier Global 7500s not long after certification.

How long have you been at your current organization?

I have worked at Martyn Fiddler Aviation for over six years.

What are your responsibilities within your organization?

I am responsible for overseeing our tax advisory service – making sure that the tax advice we provide to our clients is up-to-date and relevant as well as overseeing the integrity of our in-house products and services.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

With lockdown in place for much of last year in the UK my days do follow a routine.  I normally start with a run around my local park before settling down in my home office (my kitchen!) to catch up with overnight e-mails from the US and other countries, before catching up with the tax team and starting work on advice requested by our clients.  After that, the work is very varied. Lately I have been involved with developing and presenting webinars, but there are often client meetings by video, or work on tax changes and more recently the challenges of understanding the impact of Brexit and the UK’s departure from the EU.

Product Overview

The Praetor 600 is derived from the Legacy 500 model but has more fuel capacity and more powerful engines. It features a six-foot-tall, flat-floor cabin, stone flooring and a vacuum service lavatory. The eight fully reclining club seats may be berthed into four beds, and the baggage space is the largest in the class. The Praetor 600 is the first super-midsize jet with full fly-by-wire.

High-capacity, ultra-high-speed connectivity for all aboard is available through Viasat’s Ka-band with speeds of up to 16Mbps and unlimited streaming. An optional in-flight entertainment system consists of a high-definition video system, surround sound, and multiple audio and video input options.

As of December 2020, the Praetor 600 market is comprised of all New deliveries and none are for sale in the pre-owned market.

Brief History

First announced at NBAA in October 2018, the Praetor 600 was certified on April 18, 2019 with Brazil’s Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) and on May 20, 2019 with EASA and FAA. The Praetor 600 super-midsize business jet is a replacement for the Legacy 500 with the first aircraft being delivered in June 2019.

Worldwide Appeal

There are 21 Praetor 600 jets in operation today. All of these are wholly owned. 14.2% are currently leased. North America has the largest percentage of wholly owned Praetor 600 aircraft (60%), followed by Europe (25%).

I recently joined Jetcraft in September 2020.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

I am the Sales Director for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Hungary. Although Sales Director is the official title, my primary responsibility is to represent Jetcraft within the territory and to represent my clients.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

I generally start my day at 5:30am where I take 30-40 minutes and look at my emails that came in overnight. This is followed by walking my dog, a fitness workout and breakfast with my family which is very important to me. My goal is to try to make a new connection every day – meeting someone new in the region. My workday is generally spent on the phone speaking with customers or potential customers. The conversations vary between a casual conversation, introducing Jetcraft or discussing the current market. I also spend time studying the market in preparation for the following day.

Spangler joins Jetcraft following a 25-year career in business aviation, with senior level sales positions at Bombardier, Elliott Jets, Hawker Beechcraft and NetJets. As Sales Director for the Americas, Spangler will oversee Jetcraft’s strategic partnerships in the region, including Aerolineas Ejecutivas which operates as a Jetcraft authorised representative in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Latin market in Florida and Texas.
