How long have you been at Jetcraft?

I have been at Jetcraft since July 2013. I joined when they acquired the ExecuJet Aircraft Trading group.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

I am in charge of Europe sales alongside with my 2 european colleagues. I work to help buyers find the right aircraft for purchase, and to help sellers find the right buyer for their aircraft.

Describe a typical day or week in your role.

There is no typical day.  Often I am working on a sale which has many parts that include organizing the viewing of an aircraft, negotiating the terms and conditions, and ultimately closing the deal.  If I’m not working on a sale then I may be in meetings with sellers or prospects for potential sales. FAA LED Project
Working to make our airspace safer and more accessible

In the latter part of 2014 the FAA formed a special working group representing airports, aircraft certification & safety, lighting and the aviation industry. The working group is addressing the concerns of LEDs currently migrating in to runways and airports all over the world.

Part of this effort is existing and new research centered on the impacts of LEDs on the human eye and how they interact with pilots performing operations at our nation’s airports.

Jetcraft is co-leading a science group that is working closely with flight operations specialists to determine testing that may be required.

China has the largest mobile phone user base in the world. It also has the largest online shopping economy. China is a dynamic market and shows great potential for private aircraft ownership. How long have you been at Jetcraft?

It’s hard to believe, but I have been with Jetcraft just over 19 years!  When I started with the company, we had one office in Raleigh, and I was one of 6 people working for the company at that time.

What are your responsibilities within the global Jetcraft team?

I am privileged to serve as the Chief Financial Officer, and have the responsibility of overseeing worldwide financial, treasury and human resource functions within the company.  I have a wonderful, dedicated team that works alongside me to handle the day-to-day requirements of these functions.

Overview including differentiating features from other aircraft in its category

The Falcon 2000LXS was designed as a replacement for its predecessor, the Falcon 2000LX. One of the biggest differentiating features of the 2000LXS is the model’s improved short field capability. The reduced landing distance allows for more airports to open up compared to other aircraft in its class.

As of February 2015, the Falcon 2000LXS market is comprised of 6% pre-owned. The percentage for sale is 10.5% with 50% under an exclusive broker agreement and average days on the market are 46 days.

Race to Shanghai this spring

Each spring, Shanghai hosts the Formula 1® UBS Chinese Grand Prix.  This New York Times article “Short History of Shanghai” illustrates why this high-energy, fast-paced race is a fitting metaphor for visiting the largest city in China. Simply put, Shanghai has transformed itself from a fishing village at the mouth of the Yangtze River to a competitive, global financial giant.

Shanghai’s course took this turn most grandly in 1990 when China’s then-leader Deng Xiaoping set the city on a lightning-speed path to compete with Hong Kong by 2010. Indeed, many argue that Shanghai is a worthy competitor.
